Victorian Tea Gown

These are photos of the finished outfit, worn to the Victorian Tea at the Old City Cemetary, May 1st, 2004 in Sacramento, CA. The day was lovely, the food was wonderful and the costume was a hit! I'm still not too happy with the bustle drape, but I was in a rush and needed to make do. Otherwise, I'm completely satified with the outfit and have decided that I definitely need to make more Victorian era outfits!

A bit about my hair: I used two braids of cheap fake hair and wound them around my tiny ponytail and secured them with boby pins. The result looked surprisingly natural and stayed put the entire day! I never had that kind of success with my natural hair, even when it was down to my waist. I'm a total convert to false hair now. :)
